IMPROVED MEDICARE FOR ALL ISSUE FORUM HIGHLIGHTS NEED FOR QUALITY HEALTH CARE FOR ALL
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY IL — Champaign County Democrats are hosting a free virtual issue forum entitled Improved Medicare for All on Thursday, September 17 at 7 pm.
Drs. Sobia Ansari and Monica Maalouf, members of the Illinois Single-Payer Coalition (ISPC) will discuss the history of the U. S. healthcare system and the racial inequities embedded within it. They will discuss the way that a single payer health care system - or Medicare for All - will reduce racial inequities and secure high quality health care for all.
“Health care is a human right. Yet the pandemic has laid bare the racial inequities baked into our current health care system,” said Champaign County Democratic Party Chair Carol Ammons. “We are excited to hear from Drs. Ansari and Maalouf about their vision for creating a health care system that works for our country.”

She received her medical degree from SUNY-Downstate, Brooklyn and her Masters in Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
